The yuasa batteriesthe positive electrode of Yuasa batteries is made of lead dioxide, the negative electrode is made of porous lead, the other way they are shipped is dry.

The other way to ship them is dry, i.e. empty. They are shipped together with the electrolytes stored in plastic containers to be refilled when they are ready for activation. Once the seal has been removed, they must be installed immediately or they may oxidise.

For starting and charging the battery with acid:
simply remove the plugs from the battery tubes (top), fill the battery with acid, wait two hours (without putting the plugs in), wipe off the acid with a paper or rag and put the plugs back in.

some people prefer to charge it before use to make sure that the battery is at 100% of its charge.
