The correct break-in of the brake pads is achieved by a series of gentle braking by holding the brake lever for 10-15 sec. and then stop braking to cool the brake disc and pads, and repeat this action 5 or 6 times.
This achieves a correct thermal and heating cycle, cooling of the system and subsequently better braking.

The break-in period depends on the type of brake pad compound. Organic compounds require a longer break-in period than sintered compounds.
