NGK iridium spark plugs are currently the highest quality technical solution.
They have an iridium alloy tip in the centre electrode, which is welded in a special procedure with the aid of a laser.
Iridium is one of the hardest metals in the world, it melts at 2450 ºC and is very resistant to spark erosion. It is the spark plug used in GP motorbikes and Formula 1.
Moreover, the precious metal allows the centre electrode to be considerably thinner (0.6 mm thick), significantly reducing the need for ignition voltage and helping to improve the distribution of the flame front in the combustion chamber.
