IMPORTANT: During the months of July and August, several manufacturers are closed for holidays. Therefore, the management of warranties will be extended until 15 September. Motoscoot will process the warranties, but will await the manufacturer's approval.

As required by consumer law, the warranty of a product is valid for the first 24 months from the date of purchase. This warranty covers possible manufacturing defects and excludes misuse by the customer.


How to make a Guarantee?


To ensure a smooth and efficient warranty experience, we ask that you follow the steps below through your customer account on our website:

Login: Log in to your Motoscoot customer account with your email and password.

 

 

 

 

Warranty: Once you have logged into your account, go to the "Warranty" section. Here you will find a summary of your orders from the last 24 months.

 


Form: Complete the entire warranty form providing us with the order number, product reference, reason for the warranty and an explanation of what is wrong.

 



 

Shipping and Confirmation: After processing your warranty, we will send you an email with additional details on how to proceed with the whole process of sending the requested information about the product problem. Please follow the steps in detail so that we can be as quick and efficient as possible in processing your warranty.

* There are manufacturers that require the part, in this case you must send the manufacturer everything that makes up the kit, such as: In the purchase of a cylinder, it is not enough to send only the cylinder. To manage the warranty must also be sent piston, gaskets, etc.
* Some manufacturers may ACCEPT or DENY a warranty only with images and videos, in any case Motoscoot will notify the customer.
*If misuse, misassembly or incorrect handling is detected, Motoscoot reserves the right to inform the customer of the possibility of the brand not accepting the warranty.However, if the customer decides to proceed with the management of the warranty Motoscoot will manage it.
* If a warranty is caused by an externalfactor and the customer has reassembled the product, the item is automatically exempted from warranty, because the conditions cannot be confirmed, e.g:When fitting a cylinder and crankshaft, the piston touches the cylinder head. The customer claims for the crankshaft, but has refitted the cylinder. In this case he cannot confirm what happened and the manufacturer voids the warranty due to lack of information.


Communication with manufacturer


Once all the photographs and videos have been reviewed and passed to the manufacturer, if the manufacturer requires it, you must send the material to our branch to proceed with the shipment. We will communicate everything to you by email.

* It is important that the product is completely well protected to avoid breakage during the return. Motoscoot will not be responsible for any damage caused during shipping.
* If the manufacturer denies the warranty, the item will be returned to the customer assuming the shipping costs generated (manufacturer - Motoscoot - Customer). This involves a cost of 5.90 € x 3 shipments within the Peninsula. In the rest of the world the rate may vary depending on weight and volume of the article.


Doubts about your guarantee


If you have any questions

* You can contact the technical service through the email that was sent to you when you first completed the return form.

* The after-sales service will always contact the customer by email.

* In case the brand accepts the warranty, Motoscoot sends an email to the customer explaining the whole process and offering several solutions:

  • Replacement of the item
  • Credit memo
  • Money on account.

* In case the brand denies the warranty, Motoscoot sends an email to the customer explaining the whole process.


Interesting facts about guarantees


Take special care before taking out a guarantee:

  • The approximate warranty resolution time is 1 to 4 weeks. Depending on the manufacturer it may take longer, if this is the case Motoscoot will notify the customer.

  • Products and vehicles that are not approved for use on public roads are considered to be for sporting use only and are therefore classified as "competition".
    These items are NOT included in the"Consumer Goods Act", so they are not treated within the conventional parameters and are EXEMPT from warranty.
    In this case Motoscoot will ask the manufacturer if he accepts or not to manage the warranty.

  • We manage warranties directly with the manufacturer, who decides whether or not to accept the warranty.

  • Before / During / After the management, Motoscoot will never credit or exchange an item if the manufacturer does not authorize it.

  • Electronic products are under a different law and, depending on the manufacturer, have a warranty of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or due to their specificities are not covered by a warranty.
    Before purchasing the item, please contact us to find out how long the warranty period is for the item in question.

  • For crankshafts, balancing checks must be carried out prior to installation on the engine. Any balancing faults found after installation are exempt from warranty.

  • Consumable type products are exempt from warranty unless a clear production fault is apparent prior to assembly.

Examples of clear failure:

  • Rear-view mirror: When going to fit, the thread is found to be broken.
  • Intake nozzle: It has a cut that makes it impossible to fit.
  • Reed box: It has a petal in bad condition.

In this case, Motoscoot will replace the item, but if it has been assembled and a claim is made after a few days/months, the product will be exempt from warranty.

Before mounting the item if you have any doubts, it is recommended to contact customer service, sending images of the damage to info@motoscoot.net, with some images and the order number.

  • A warranty only covers the product itself. In other words, if the assembled item has a defect and this defect causes another component to break, no manufacturer will be liable for any defect caused by the item.
  • We have complaint forms, in this case you must download, fill it in and send it by email to postventa@motoscoot.net.
