The main characteristics of the Semi Metallic compound are its effective, adjustable, and progressive brake, a minimal wear and noise rate without "fade" effect, a very effective pad in both dry and wet conditions, and very non-aggressive to the disc.

The proper bedding-in of the brake pads: is done through a series of gentle brakings holding the brake lever for 10-15 sec. and then releasing the brake to cool the disc and pads, and repeat this action, 5 or 6 times.
This achieves a proper thermal cycling and heating, cooling of the system and subsequently better braking.
