When the transmission is worn, it becomes noticeable through jerking when accelerating, excessive chain slack, metallic noises, sharp teeth on the rear sprocket, or difficulty maintaining correct tension. On a Yamaha DT 125, a stretched chain or marked teeth make power delivery less precise and can accelerate wear on the rest of the assembly.

This Supersprox D.I.D transmission kit combines a 16-tooth front sprocket, a 57-tooth steel rear sprocket, and a D.I.D 428 H reinforced non-sealed chain with 134 links and a clip link. Replacing the complete assembly allows the front sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain to operate with the same level of wear from the initial installation, avoiding fitting a new chain onto gears that are already worn.

The 16/57 ratio and the 428 pitch must be checked against the installed transmission before fitting, especially on motorcycles that have had previous gearing changes or off-road use.
