Straight and smoothed gears. They eliminate friction and reduce energy consumption!

With the new SECOND ROLLER GEAR secondary gears, Malossi's technicians have achieved the goal of minimizing power losses due to friction inside the final reduction gear, making available to the wheel the maximum power transmitted by the engine. The innovative element of this product is the introduction into the gearbox, located at the end of the engine casing, of two needle bearings that support a special straight-toothed secondary shaft. This solution transforms a rotary movement with direct steel/aluminum contact (see original system) into a rotation with friction on steel rollers. The advantage of this innovation also lies in its ease of assembly, as it is sufficient to insert the two needle bearings included in the SECOND ROLLER GEAR package into their original seats.

ATTENTION : It is noted that Piaggio, starting from early 1998, modified the assembly of the secondary gears of ø 18 and ø 17.67 respectively in its scooters. Since not even Piaggio itself is able to provide exact references regarding the start dates of the serial assembly of the new gears in the various scooter models, nor the engine numbers to which they refer, the only possibility for now is to check the gears after disassembling them.
