Yamaha X-Max 125 14-20 valve collets

The Yamaha valve collets are high-precision metal components designed to secure the intake and exhaust valves to their corresponding retainers and springs in the cylinder head. Their function is to ensure that the valve remains in its correct position during the opening and closing cycles at high rpm, preventing it from coming loose and causing serious damage to the piston or the combustion chamber.

It is recommended to replace these valve keepers whenever the cylinder head is disassembled, the valves are changed, or the engine is reconditioned. Continuous wear or material fatigue can compromise the micrometric fit of the valve stem, so using a new genuine Yamaha spare part is the recommended technical procedure to prevent play in the valve timing of your 125cc scooter or manual motorcycle.
