History of Pro Circuit

Mitch Payton, who was a professional Baja-type racer in the deserts of the California area and a specialist in engine tuning, founded Pro Circuit in 1978 at the age of 18. The first customers of Pro Circuit were mostly motocross racers and desert specialists who wanted Mitch to provide them with the same speed setups he used on his own bikes.
Thanks to the reputation built on the circuits, in 1980 Mitch focused 100% on the preparation and sale of Off-road motorcycle parts. After perfecting the manufacturing process with his small team of specialists, custom exhausts were the first high-performance accessory from Pro Circuit to leave Mitch’s messy workshop, followed by silencers for motocross racing.
Thanks to the success of these accessories, riders using the main brands such as Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki, began to request modifications to other parts of their Off-road bikes, which led Pro Circuit to the preparation and development of suspensions, engine parts, as well as chassis accessories.
The achievements and great results obtained in races by Pro Circuit, rekindled Mitch’s competitive fire, so in the early 90s Pro Circuit set its sights on the holy grail of Off-road racing in the United States: winning a national championship in the AMA Supercross Series, creating the Peak Antifreeze, Pro Circuit and Honda team with 125cc bikes, together with a group of unknown riders, among whom was a very young Jeremy McGrath. Later, further successes followed with another rookie named Ricky Carmichael, achieving the dream Mitch had pursued for years: winning the national motocross championship of the United States.

Pro Circuit exhaust range
