Stage6 derestricted CDI unit for 50cc motorcycles with Minarelli AM6 engine, compatible with Yamaha DT 50 / DT 50 R, MBK X-Limit and Malaguti XSM / XTM Euro 2 2007-2011.

On some 50cc motorcycles, the stock CDI unit may cut the ignition at around 7,500 rpm. This is not a major issue with a completely standard setup, but when you start fitting a exhaust, Sport cylinder, or other performance parts, the engine may hit the limiter precisely when it should still be revving higher.

The Stage6 derestricted CDI unit removes this restriction, allowing the engine to make use of a wider RPM range and get better performance from the rest of the setup. The final improvement will always depend on the cylinder, exhaust, carburetor, and tuning fitted to the motorcycle.

It is also a good option if you simply want to derestrict a 50cc motorcycle while keeping the original engine or replace a damaged or missing stock control unit.

Important: after removing the RPM limit, it is advisable to check the carburetion and engine tuning. A different exhaust or cylinder may require changes to the main jet and other adjustments so that the engine runs correctly and does not run lean.
