If you have tuned the engine, it makes no sense to leave the intake as the bottleneck. The SWR MRD kit combines a 32/34 mm intake with the Metrakit V3S by Moto Tassinari Reed valve, creating an assembly designed for tuned 2-Stroke engines that need to increase the fuel-air mixture flow and make better use of the cylinder’s potential.

32/34 mm intake: its larger diameter makes it possible to increase the fuel-air mixture flow to the engine, reducing intake restrictions when the setup demands more flow. On a tuned Derbi Variant, this helps make better use of the cylinder as RPM rises, seeking stronger acceleration, better throttle response, and a more forceful top-end pull.

Metrakit V3S by Moto Tassinari Reed valve: it controls the entry of the fuel-air mixture into the crankcase and is a key component in the response of a 2-Stroke engine. Its design is intended to promote intake flow and crankcase filling, helping to achieve quicker response and fuller power delivery. In a well-balanced setup, the aim is stronger low-end response, better mid-range transition, and greater intake capacity when the engine pulls at high RPM.

This is where the assembly starts to make a difference. The intake allows work with a greater fuel-air mixture flow, and the V3S manages its entry into the crankcase. When the cylinder, exhaust, and carburetion are correctly prepared, the engine can make better use of the flow, achieving better throttle response, fuller delivery, and a more forceful top-end pull.
