The useful micrometer for engine tuning and setting the ignition in millimetres relative to the top dead centre. Therefore, the essential tool you must have in your toolbox. This Micrometer has specifications that impose very strict manufacturing tolerances to reduce the gap between the body of the tool and the fixed part screwed into the cylinder head as much as possible. Thanks to this, we achieve high precision in ignition timing.

The micrometer is graduated from 0 to 9. When the head of the pin is turned one revolution, this represents a movement of the rod of 1 mm. One scale division represents 0.1 mm.

For example: if you want to set the ignition to 2.3 mm before top dead centre (TDC), you will have to turn the head 2 revolutions + 3 graduations.
