Speedometer drive gear Piaggio Vespa LX 125/250/300 GTS

Original Piaggio gear for the speedometer drive, reference 267819, used in numerous Piaggio and Vespa models equipped with a mechanical speedometer.

This gear is part of the drive mechanism located in the wheel. As the wheel turns, it transmits movement within the drive unit to operate the cable that carries this rotation to the speedometer.

Over time, the teeth can wear out, become deformed, or lose meshing capability. When this happens, the speedometer may begin to display irregularly, fluctuate, or stop indicating speed altogether even though the cable remains in good condition.

Replacing only the gear makes it possible to repair the drive unit when the rest of the assembly is in good condition, avoiding the unnecessary replacement of the entire mechanism.

Before installation, we also recommend checking the condition of the gear it meshes with, the speedometer drive housing, and the speedometer cable. A seized cable or a second damaged gear can quickly damage the new part again.
