The Maxi HI Speed features a new polishing process on the roller tracks, which has improved their sliding. The nozzle is made of special case-hardened, tempered, and ground nickel-chrome steel. It is distinguished by its large internal chamber with an internal grease reservoir function, in which a type of spring is placed that allows for constant grease distribution on the pin even under the most difficult conditions. With this feature, the difference compared to previous models is noticeable, as the performance remains constant and it is no longer necessary to continually adjust the rollers to find the best performance.
Supplied with a contrast spring with 10% less stiffness compared to the original, it increases the rotation speed at take-off. The rollers are coated with a new blend of nylon material and aramid fibers.
Furthermore, Polini ensures that thanks to its performance, this new variator requires less maintenance. And this is, in large part, thanks to the lubrication of the nozzle and the pin.
