Polini Evolution PRE driven pulley kit Ø134 mm for Piaggio scooter 50 2-Stroke engines.

The rear pulleys work together with the variator to continuously modify the transmission ratio. When the variator closes and forces the belt to rise on the front pulley, the rear driven pulley must open in a controlled manner to allow the belt to descend.

During acceleration and recovery, the reverse process occurs. The contra spring and pulley system determine how quickly the rear transmission closes again, keeping the belt under tension and helping the engine remain within its useful RPM range.

In a Racing engine this is especially important. If the rear pulley opens too quickly, too slowly or works with a spring that does not correspond, the engine may drop out of the powerband when changing ratio, rev up without advancing properly or lose acceleration.

Polini specifies that the Evolution components must work together. The belt, the Speed Drive and the contra spring form a system calculated to work with compatible travel, tensions and diameters.

For the PRE configuration, Polini combines this pulley kit with the Evolution belt 248.031.3 and the Evo-Slider contra spring 243.103. Altering any of these elements may completely change the behavior of the transmission.
