Air-Speed Evolution 3 variator pulley, developed for 50cc scooters with Piaggio and Minarelli-Yamaha engines.
Made entirely from lightweight aluminium alloy, about 120 grams lighter than steel pulleys. The surface has undergone an exclusive special ceramic treatment.
Tests carried out show that each pulley must have a specific roughness, for the fixed half-pulley, 3 microns. These values were obtained after a series of tests.
The engine offers greater thrust at start-up and is more “racing” in power delivery. It makes the scooter's gear change faster and more consistent.
